Online Casinos were always striving for new lucrative players. From time to time, online casinos launches new games, deposit/match bonuses and diverse reward programs for regular players. A remarcable inovation was the introduction of progressive jackpots: the largest payoff for a casino game. The value of the progressive jackpot increases each time a player wagers the maximum bet in a casino game. […]

Most casino games doesn’t require any knowledge of the game, only luck is needed. I’ll call “luck” the easy way, it means that you can play at a casino for the first time in your life and win big money. That is why casino games are so popular: humans tend to think that they will get lucky, risk their money at casinos … and … lose. Even you are a veteran player, in spite of knowing about house edge (house vigorish), the luck factor and the pleasure to get lucky will make your foots go to a casino.
“Luck never gives; it only lends.” - Proverb.

While having a “vacancy” from my poker life (yeah, I’ve lost $85 in a $0.50/$1 Limit Texas Hold’em game) I was watching how other people are playing poker. Accidentally, I’ve found a high stakes ($200/$400) heads up table at FullTiltPoker. Ouch, it was Robert Mizrachi playing against Quiet Lion. Robert Mizrachi (Nicknamed “Who’s Bad”) is a FullTilt pros player. It was fun to find out that Quiet Lion is Richard Brodie, who, in his own words is “Although I’m the author of two books, I’m probably best known as the original author of Microsoft Word and Bill Gates’s assistant”. Wow, the creator of Microsoft Word is playing against a FullTiltPoker Pros. (You can read the Richard’s blog here: http://www.liontales.com) […]

Whenever something becomes popular, it automatically generates a lot of “satellite stuff” around it. For example: the success of the greatest trilogy “The Lord of the Rings” by Tolkien was refreshed by the movie with the same name. After the movie, a myriad of stuff like t-shirts, jackets, watches and even jewelry appeared.
Poker is a popular skill game, and it was fun when I incidentally found this sand monument

At last, I have some progress at $0.25/$0.50 tables. Of course I wanted to win my money back, so I came back to the $0.25/$0.50 tables at FullTiltPoker. I was playing with the following strategy in mind: […]

Having played for a while at $0.10/$0.20 tables I thought it’s time to move forward. If playing carefully (playing strong hands and rarely bluffing) I was able to win around $5 at a $0.10/$0.20 table in an hour.
I’m writing this post after 3 days of playing at $0.25/$0.50 tables. In short: I was loosing money

I’ve learned that Fixed Limit Poker at low stakes is a tight game. There is no room for frequent bluffing, although bluffing can be fun when you use it rarely and when you feel (opponents are checking instead of betting for ex, or when they think too much before calling or even raising) that your opponents don’t have strong cards.

When you are using something frequently (a pen, mobile phone, poker software) , usability is becoming an important factor. Last week I was playing poker for more than one hour per day at Absolute Poker. I found small annoyances and decided to propose some enhancements to the Absolute Poker software. When I finished this review I understood that it’s pure criticism. (Players that need a detailed absolute poker review with bonus information and payment methods for us players may visit Absolute Poker Review)
Keyboard Shortcuts
You are spending most of your time at the tables, so let’s dissect the Absolute Poker table. The first thing that annoys me is the lack of handy keyboard shortcuts! I think that it would be easier to move only a finger and not the whole hand. […]

After reading the rules of poker and a couple of articles, I’ve decided to play poker online… I started to play for fun money, but quickly found out that in most cases, the players will call or even raise after the river knowing that they have nothing in their hands. The fact that you can loose $100 of fun money will not make you very sad, but it will be fun to win the pot when you have nothing in your hands. Yes, fun money poker is a good place for a novice, it will help you memorize poker hands, make a decision quicker, but I don’t think one should play too much for fun because it can give you a distorted vision of what a poker game is (I’m saying this after playing for a week at $0.02/$0.04 and $0.10/$0.20 real money tables).
